Admire the pretty white houses, from whose windows flower pots of colorful geraniums peep out. Numerous buildings feature elaborate decorations, such as friezes, Latin inscriptions, and Baroque or Renaissance portals.

The churches are among the most evocative monuments of Locorotondo. The oldest of all is the church of the Madonna della Greca, which was originally built between the seventh and eighth centuries. The current building, on the other hand, dates back to the 15th century. Equally fascinating are the 19th century church of San Rocco and the small church of the Spirito Santo, which dates back to 1683. The most illustrious example of local Baroque architecture is the Palazzo Morelli, built in 1819 with a magnificent portal and rooms scattered over three floors.

At the gates of the city is the main local wine cellar, the Cantina del Locorotondo, a cooperative founded in the 1930s. Here the wine is produced according to traditional methods and you can try the various specialties before buying them.

You probably won't want to miss the opportunity to visit the other towns scattered around the picturesque Itria Valley. The most famous places in the area are Martina Franca and Alberobello, which you can easily reach by car or train.
